Punjab Schools Warned on Summer Camp Violations

The Education Minister of Punjab, Rana Sikandar Hayat, has issued a strict warning to schools flouting government guidelines on summer camps. This follows reports that some public and private institutions have not adhered to the official directives regarding camp schedules and student participation.
Rana Sikandar Hayat emphasized that schools are only permitted to conduct summer camps for a duration of one month. Camps are allowed to operate from Monday to Thursday between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM in accordance with the government-approved schedule.
The minister also highlighted that participation in these summer camps must be voluntary and contingent upon parental consent. He stated that schools are prohibited from compelling students to attend under any circumstances.
In order to ensure compliance, the Education Minister has directed all district education authorities to enhance monitoring and conduct field inspections of schools actively. Parents have also been urged to report any infractions relating to timing or other regulations outlined by the government.
This move aims to safeguard the rights of students and maintain the standards set by the education department during the ongoing summer camp season in Punjab.
