Ducky Bhai Switches from Fortuner to Jetour T2 iDM

Popular content creator Saad Ur Rehman, known as Ducky Bhai, has made headlines by exchanging his long-trusted Toyota Fortuner Legender for a Jetour T2 iDM, a plug-in hybrid SUV making waves in Pakistan. After more than three years and 80,000 kilometers with the Fortuner, he sought a more comfortable and efficient vehicle better suited for daily urban drives.

A New Chapter: From Toyota Fortuner to Jetour T2 iDM

Saad revealed that while the Toyota Fortuner excelled off-road and had a commanding presence, it lacked the smooth handling and refined comfort necessary for everyday city travel. The heavier steering effort and rugged nature did not align with his practical needs. In contrast, the Jetour T2 iDM delivers a notably lighter and smoother driving experience. “The Fortuner is a great off-road machine, but it’s just not a practical everyday car. The Jetour T2 is the exact opposite; it drives like butter,” Saad explained.

Jetour T2 iDM Features and Driving Experience

The Jetour T2 iDM is a front-wheel-drive plug-in hybrid vehicle boasting an impressive 90 km pure electric range, making it ideal for eco-friendly urban commutes. It blends a striking, box-shaped exterior with modern technological amenities, including a large infotainment screen with swift, reliable Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. The cabin features ventilated and memory seats, ambient lighting, and double-glazed acoustic glass that ensures a quiet, luxurious interior ambiance by isolating outside noise.

Saad also highlighted ample legroom in the rear seats and a spacious boot equipped with practical features like cup holders and power sockets, enhancing comfort and convenience for passengers and outdoor activities alike.

Challenges and Ownership Insights

While Saad praised many aspects of the Jetour T2, he noted some minor aspects needing adjustment, such as the slightly low maximum audio volume, which he corrected via equalizer settings. Additionally, the advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), though helpful, can be overly sensitive on Pakistani roads, prompting him to deactivate certain features for a smoother drive.

Regarding concerns about switching to a Chinese vehicle, Saad expressed confidence in his maintenance approach, stressing regular servicing and timely replacement of fluids and filters as essential regardless of brand. He dismissed worries about reliability, emphasizing that proper care is key to any car’s longevity.

What This Means for Pakistani Car Buyers

Saad’s transition from a legendary Toyota SUV to a Chinese hybrid signifies a shifting trend among Pakistani car owners valuing modern tech, efficiency, and urban practicality. The Jetour T2 iDM, retailing between PKR 1 and 1.35 crore, offers a compelling option for those looking for a spacious and smart urban vehicle with greener credentials. This review highlights emerging acceptance and trust in international hybrid models, which could influence consumer choices and push the local automotive industry toward more sustainable alternatives.
