Babar Accepts ICC Sanction Following Third ODI Controversy
Former Pakistani captain Babar Azam was fined for a minor ICC Code of Conduct breach during the third ODI against Sri Lanka.
The incident occurred at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, where Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 6 wickets to complete a 3-0 series sweep.
The right-hander was dismissed for 34 runs off 52 balls by Jeffery Vandersay in the 21st over of Pakistan’s innings.
After getting out, the Lahore-born cricketer struck the stumps with his bat before leaving the crease, which triggered the ICC charge.
The ICC confirmed the 31-year-old breached Article 2.2, relating to abuse of cricket equipment or ground fixtures during an international match.
