PIMS Admits Over 700 Food Poisoning Victims for Treatment

Islamabad: As many as more than 700 gastro patients visited the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) following the different complaints of food poisoning during the three days of Eid ul Azha.
According to the Spokesperson of the Executive Director of PIMS, Dr. Mubashir Mushtaq Daha, free-of-cost medicine and complete healthcare facilities were provided to all the patients on the spot.
He said that ED PIMS Dr. Rana Imran Sikandar visited the Gastroenterologist department in person and gave directions to entertain all the patients timely during the Eid holidays.
ED PIMS Dr. Rana Imran Sikandar suggested that patients who have problems with the liver, heart, and Stomach should be careful in eating meat and drinking fizzy drinks in the upcoming days. Health Body Calls for appointments at PIMS
He added that excessive use of meat is harmful to health.
However, the Spokesperson of PIMS ED, Dr Mubashir Daha told the NewzTodays that the PIMS administration had kept alert during the Eid days. He feared that the number of patients could rise following the continuous use of meat in the next coming days.
Renowned Gastroenterologist Dr. Shahrukh Naeem, while talking to NewzTodays, “Meat is a very good source of protein, vitamins, and minerals but excessive use of it invites many troubles”.
He said that a person should not consume more than 100 grams of meat on Eid day because it created different problems such as blood pressure, rising cholesterol levels, etc.
He suggested that people use yogurt and fresh salad in eating meat
