International gold prices also showed little movement. The global benchmark remained steady at $4,042 per ounce, including a $20 premium.
However, a firmer US employment report weighed on investor sentiment, reducing expectations of an interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve in December.
Spot gold slipped 0.1% to $4,072.87 per ounce in early trading, while US gold futures for December delivery inched 0.3% higher to $4,071.90 per ounce.
