Kamyab Jawan schemes ready to launch
Islamabad: Federal Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen has said that the PTI government has launched a Rs 600 to 700 billion Kamyab Jawan Scheme for the rural and urban population of the country.
Disclosing salient features of the scheme, the Federal Finance Minister said that Prime Minister Imran Khan would soon inaugurate the project. The government has arranged funds from the commercial banks with the guarantees of the federal government.
Under the scheme, two NGOs, namely Akhawat and NRSP, will channel the funds to implement projects for the families in rural and urban areas of the countries. The commercial banks do not have offices in the vicinity of poor residents and farmers nor have the knowledge to deal with commercial banks, the Minister said.
The federal government will give a 10 percent guarantee of Rs 700 billion financings for this scheme and target four million households identified by Ehsas survey of Ministry of Poverty Alleviation.
Tareen emphasized that the PTI government will not do politics with the poor because the poor are poor, and surveys of the Ehsas program are apolitical to get cover the farmers and other needy ones through this scheme.
Under the scheme, the Finance Minister said that the farmers would get a loan of Rs 150,000 in two installments for purchasing agriculture implements, tractors, and others. In contrast, the residents of urban areas will get interest-free loans of Rs 500,000 to start their businesses for three years.
Similarly, the government will offer residents of urban areas Rs 2 million loans to construct the house. The government will train one family member to give a technical education to run their family, the Minister concluded.
The objective of this scheme is to extend support to poor families in the country. These are huge funds the government is going to offer to the poor to kick off their businesses.
