Pakistan’s mobile app ecosystem expanded rapidly in 2025, with total downloads reaching nearly 3.8 billion, according to preliminary analysis by Data Darbar Insights report findings.
The figure represents six per cent year-on-year growth and significantly outpaced the global app download growth rate of 0.8 per cent worldwide during this period.
The increase lifted Pakistan to eighth position globally for app downloads, overtaking Türkiye and highlighting stronger user engagement compared with many other markets worldwide rankings.
The findings build on the Pakistan State of Apps 2024 report, which tracked time spent, monthly active users, and revenue from purchases advertising metrics trends.
Early indicators from the 2025 draft suggest Pakistanis are downloading more apps while engagement depth, session frequency, and retention metrics continue improving compared with years.

Analysts link the acceleration to rising smartphone penetration, expanding internet access nationwide, growing developer interest, and a young tech-savvy population driving mobile usage patterns nationally.

Preliminary data shows Meta and ByteDance dominated downloads, led by TikTok, while Telegram and VPN apps recorded sharp growth following policy changes and platform restrictions.
In e-commerce and payments, Temu surpassed Daraz in downloads, JazzCash set a monthly activity record, and Easypaisa led installations across Pakistan’s competitive digital finance landscape.
Globally downloads grew modestly, but Pakistan’s above-average expansion highlighted distinct local adoption patterns and rising investment in digital services compared with broader international market trends.
