PESCO Approves Salary and Allowance Increases for Employees

The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) has announced a revision in salaries, allowances, and pensions for its employees, effective July 1, 2026. The decision aims to address staff welfare and align compensation with federal government terms.

According to an official notification from PESCO, a disparity reduction allowance of 15% has been introduced. This allowance is calculated based on employees’ basic salaries as of June 30, 2022, and is in accordance with federal government regulations. The initiative is part of PESCO’s effort to standardize employee remuneration and reduce wage gaps within the company.

In addition to the disparity reduction allowance, PESCO has increased the special convenience allowance for employees with disabilities from Rs 6,000 to Rs 10,000. The general convenience allowance for all employees has also been raised by 50%, further enhancing the overall benefits package.

Retired staff members are set to benefit from a 7% hike in pensions, also effective from July 1, 2026. This pension increment reflects PESCO’s commitment to supporting its retired workforce and ensuring their financial security.

The company has directed all relevant departments to implement the newly approved salary structure and allowances starting from July 1. These changes come amid ongoing efforts by public sector organizations in Pakistan to adjust employee compensation in response to rising living costs.

PESCO’s management emphasized that these adjustments are part of its continuous initiative to improve employee welfare and maintain motivation within its workforce. The revised compensation is expected to positively impact employees’ financial conditions across the company.
