PM Ramadan Relief Package 2026 Launched

Government raises per-family aid to Rs13,000, disburses 64% funds digitally by 8 Ramadan
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday formally launched the Prime Minister Ramadan Relief Package 2026 with an allocation of Rs38 billion to support low-income families during the holy month.
Chairing a review meeting in Islamabad, Shehbaz Sharif said the government had increased per-family assistance from Rs5,000 last year to Rs13,000 this year to provide greater financial relief amid rising living costs. He described it as the country’s largest and most comprehensive Ramadan relief package to date.SNGPL To Supply Gas in Ramzan
The prime minister said the package builds on last year’s successful model and continues to rely on a transparent digital distribution system. Financial assistance is being transferred directly to beneficiaries through digital wallets, reducing physical interaction and eliminating long queues at distribution points.
Officials briefed the meeting on progress, stating that by 8 Ramadan, payments had reached 64% of eligible beneficiaries. Verification and validation of the remaining recipients are under way at an accelerated pace to ensure timely disbursement.
Twelve banks and financial technology companies are partnering with the government this year to facilitate payments. Beneficiaries under the Ramadan package have so far conducted 1.1 million digital transactions, reflecting growing adoption of branchless banking channels.
Authorities said more than 1.227 million automated robo-calls had been made to raise awareness about the Prime Minister Ramadan Package. A broad public outreach campaign is also underway across print, electronic and social media platforms to guide eligible families.
The package covers the entire country, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring nationwide access to relief funds. Officials said the use of digital wallets marks a key milestone in Pakistan’s transition toward a data-driven financial support system.
Real-time dashboards are being used to monitor payments and enhance transparency. The system allows authorities to track disbursements instantly and address complaints or discrepancies without delay.
The prime minister appreciated the performance of institutions involved in executing the programme, noting that the digital model safeguards beneficiaries’ dignity while improving efficiency.
Under the application process, citizens must send their valid CNIC number via SMS to 9999. Applicants will receive a confirmation message and subsequent notification regarding eligibility through SMS. The service is available on all major mobile networks.
Officials advised citizens to use only official channels and avoid third parties to prevent fraud or misinformation.
The Prime Minister Ramadan Relief Package 2026 comes as the government expands social protection initiatives to cushion vulnerable households against inflationary pressures, reinforcing its push for technology-driven welfare delivery nationwide.
