Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has inaugurated a Daanish School in Mankera, Bhakkar, and launched the School Meal Program at Government Primary School Kisanwala.
Speaking at the event, she highlighted education and nutrition as essential for securing a better future for children across the province.
She also ordered the upgradation of Government Girls Primary School Kisanwala to an elementary school and approved the promotion of elementary schools in Kari and Noorpur Shah to high school level.
During her visit, the chief minister distributed lunch boxes, toured classrooms, and praised desks made from recycled milk cartons for their strength and durability.

At Daanish School Mankera, she visited the computer lab, library and girls’ hostel, celebrated students’ birthdays, and encouraged them to remain confident and work hard.
Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said more than 200,000 milk packs are recycled into school furniture and stationery, adding that the School Meal Program operates in 8,319 schools across 13 districts.
He said 13,197 students are currently enrolled in 20 Daanish schools, while the meal programme has increased school enrolment by 28 percent.
The chief minister also condemned recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan and expressed condolences to families affected by the Lodhran bus-truck collision.
