Supreme Court Schedules Hearings for Two Major Cases
Islamabad – The Supreme Court of Pakistan has scheduled hearings for two significant cases related to civilian trials in military courts and the appeal by Sunni Ittehad Council regarding reserved seats. A seven-member larger bench, headed by Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan, will hear the intra-court appeals concerning civilian trials in military courts on July 8.
On July 9, a full court led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa will conduct the final hearing of the case regarding the Sunni Ittehad Council’s claim to reserved seats.
The Election Commission maintains that the Sunni Ittehad Council is not entitled to these reserved seats, while the Sunni Ittehad Council has requested the Supreme Court for a creative interpretation in their favor.
