Ufone 2nd worst performer after Jazz

State-run CMO monopoly—Ufone—has the worst performance in two metropolitan cities of the country whereas its subscribers have few complaints about overcharging or billing issues.
Ufone—a subsidiary of PTCL, operated by Etisalat of UAE, has worst performance both in quality of service and availability of network in megacities like Karachi and Lahore whereas it had fewer complaints regarding billing or overcharging the consumers, reveals a PTA monthly survey.
Ufone—4th in ranking of market share but ranked 2nd having number of complaints—15% regarding quality of service, network availability and overcharging issues whereas Jazz Pakistan is ranked number one with maximum—53% complaints and Telenor Pakistan and Zong Pakistan both shared 3rd rank with 14% complaints.
An employee of Ufone on condition of anonymity told Newztodays.com that the Network is not investing as Etisalat and Govt of Pakistan are considering selling their equities either to already existing players in the market or some oversee interested one. He went on to say that the CEO of Ufone, is also wrapping up to see his family in the USA.

Regarding the quality of service, the survey reveals that Ufone consumers from Karachi comprising 26%, 18 % from Lahore, and 17 % Chakwal complained about the poor quality of service of the Network.
Similarly, the Network’s consumers from Karachi have 53 % and Lahore had 23 % complaints regarding either no network service or very poor coverage of the service of Ufone, it added.
About overcharging or billing problems faced by Ufone consumers, the survey further said that the consumers of the Network having more complaints about this issue reported from Lahore, Islamabad, and Jauharabad.
