Rupee edges up against US dollar
The Pakistani rupee on Wednesday closed at 280.86 against the US dollar in the inter-bank market. It made a gain of Rs0.01.
The Pakistani rupee strengthened slightly against the US dollar on Wednesday. It appreciated 0.05% in early inter-bank trading on Wednesday.

At 10am, the Pakistani rupee was trading at 280.73 against US dollar with a gain of Rs0.14 from Tuesday’s close rate of 280.87.

The dollar index hovered around 100.18 after touching 100.25 — its highest since August 1 which reflected continued investor preference for safe-haven assets.
Oil prices, which is a key external factor for Pakistan’s balance of payments also declined. Brent crude futures slipped 0.56% to $64.08 a barrel. West Texas Intermediate fell 0.66% to $60.16.
