Zong consumers hit by worst coverage, network issues

Islamabad: Zong—China Mobile Pakistan—is amongst third CMOS with 22% subscribers with network issues, causing problems for users.
Customers have now started complaining about issues in a Zong Network.
The Zong network had created competition for other telecom companies like Jazz, Ufone, Warid, and Telenor Pakistan as consumers faced few issues in coverage. But with time, customers are also facing problems today on the Zong network.
Other companies in the telecom sector in Pakistan also have coverage issues. But the Jazz has beaten the others in coverage and network issues.
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA)-a telecom regulator has been surveying complaints of the customers. A portion of the customers complained about poor coverage issues on Zong Network. The regulator released a survey in September last year that pointed out issues of the Zong network.

The customers across the country have almost shared the same number of complaints with the two other CMOs—Telenor & Ufone—as Jazz Pakistan being at the top with a maximum number of consumer complaints.
PTA had introduced three parameters of quality of service, network provision, and overcharging while conducting a survey.
All three PTA parameters include poor quality of service, non-provision of a network, and overcharging. Zong’s consumers hit three major cities of Rawalpindi, Chakwal, and Bahawalpur. The Network has relatively fewer issues in cities like Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, and Faisalabad said an official survey of PTA available with Newztodays.com.
About Poor Quality of Service of Zong, the survey highlighted, “Out of the total complaints, 32% complaints received from Lahore, 18% from Karachi, 14% from Bahawalpur, 9% each from Faisalabad, Islamabad, Chakwal and Rawalpindi.
Coverage issues, it said, “Zong had 35% of complaints and consumers suffering most of non-provision of a network in cities like Nowshera, Karachi, Jahania, and Sargodha.”
Similarly, Zong Pakistan had 13% of complaints regarding overcharging/tariff-related issues, and the cities severely hit by this issue include Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Karachi, the survey concludes.
The customers have been looking towards the telecom regulator to resolve the issues of Zong Network for better services. They also call for taking action against the telecom service provider over a failure to address the concerns of the customers.
