Chinese firm calls for extending solar park to 900 MW
ISLAMABAD (Newz Todays) : A Chinese firm has approached the government with a proposal to increase Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park’s installed capacity to 900 MW in order to end the world’s worst energy crisis.
The President of Xingchu Century Technology Co., Ltd. (the parent company of Zonergy Solar Development Pakistan) met with a Pakistani minister in order to remove obstacles preventing the expansion of the solar park to 900 MW.
The Chinese company initiated the project during the previous PML-N administration. It had completed construction on the 300 MW Quaid-e-Azam solar Park plant.
Subsequently, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) reduced the power tariff for solar energy projects, halting the expansion of the solar park.

(Parent Company of Zonergy Solar Development Pakistan), and Mr. Xu Hongchang, Vice President of Xingchu Century, along with company senior delegates in Pakistan, met with Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhary, Minister of Planning and Development of Pakistan and Vice Chairman of the Planning Committee, and engaged in in-depth discussions regarding Xingchu Century’s development in Pakistan.
In the Minister’s Office, Mr. Guo and Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhary, Minister of Planning and Development of Pakistan and Vice Chairman of the Planning Commission, engaged in an open and sincere discussion regarding related work. Mr. Guo reported on the company’s history of development, market structure, performance highlights, etc., and stated that Xingchu Century will establish a foothold in the Pakistani market and provide Pakistan with superior energy services. Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhary admired Xingchu Century’s contribution to Pakistan’s green energy development and wished that the company would continue to establish itself in Pakistan and make additional contributions to Pakistan’s social and economic growth.
