Pakistani Rupee Continues Gain Against US Dollar

The Pakistani rupee on Friday witnessed a slight gain against the US dollar in the inter-bank market and closed at 281.26, registering an increase of Rs0.01.

Pakistani rupee closed at 281.27 on Thursday.

The Pakistani rupee on Friday morning continued its gaining momentum against US dollar and appreciated 0.06% in the inter-bank market.

At 10am, the currency stood at 281.10, registering a gain of Rs0.17 against the US dollar.

The yen edged lower on Friday and slipped 0.3% to 147.72 per dollar but remained on track for a 1.2% weekly rise.

The dollar index which is a contributor to track the greenback against six major peers, was up 0.1% to 97.90. Euro rose 0.1% to $1.1722. Sterling was broadly flat at $1.3437.

Brent crude gained 18 cents, or 0.3%, to $64.29 a barrel. US West Texas Intermediate surged by 19 cents, or 0.3%, to $60.67.
