During the meeting in Karachi, Abdul Aleem Khan invited Saudi investment in key national projects including the M-6 Sukkur–Hyderabad Motorway, M-10 Hyderabad–Karachi Port Motorway, M-13 Kharian–Rawalpindi Motorway and the Mansehra–Naran–Jalkhad–Chilas (MNJC) Road. He said Pakistan’s road infrastructure is self-sustaining and supported by toll revenues, while new motorway links to the northern regions will boost trade and regional connectivity.
The Saudi minister welcomed investment opportunities in Pakistan’s communications sector and invited Abdul Aleem Khan to visit the Kingdom. He also sought Pakistan’s support in the upcoming International Maritime Organization (IMO) elections, which the minister assured. The two sides reaffirmed that the Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement (SMDA) has expanded the framework for bilateral cooperation beyond defense into infrastructure, technology and logistics.
Aleem Khan noted that the MNJC project’s strong tourism and commercial potential makes it a viable investment for Saudi partners, and highlighted the National Highway Authority’s focus on developing corridor connectivity aligned with the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) network. He emphasized that the communications ministry is modernizing toll systems to ensure sustainable maintenance and attract private-sector participation.
Engr. Saleh Bin Nasser Aljasser appreciated Pakistan’s infrastructure initiatives and expressed Saudi readiness to collaborate on technology integration, road safety and logistics management. Both ministers underlined that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy “brotherly and time-tested relations” and agreed to deepen cooperation through regular high-level exchanges and project-level engagements under the expanding strategic partnership.
