Pakistani Co-Founded AI Startup Respond.io Raises $62.5M
Respond.io, an AI-driven customer conversation management platform co-founded by Pakistani entrepreneur Hassan Ahmed, has successfully raised $62.5 million in a Series B funding round. The round was led by Camber Partners and included participation from Endeavor Catalyst alongside existing investors.
The investment will support Respond.io’s global expansion efforts, particularly targeting mid-market business sectors. The company’s platform enables businesses to efficiently manage customer interactions through multiple messaging and voice channels, helping to enhance communication and engagement.
Founded in 2017 by Hassan Ahmed (currently Chief Technology Officer), CEO Gerardo Salandra, and COO Yaroslav Kudritskiy, Respond.io originally launched as Rocketbots in Hong Kong before relocating to Kuala Lumpur in 2019. The rebranding to Respond.io reflected a strategic shift towards omnichannel customer communication solutions.
The startup has demonstrated significant growth, reaching $35 million in annual recurring revenue and achieving 169% year-over-year growth. Its platform supports over 10,000 enterprises across more than 180 countries, processing in excess of 2 billion messages each quarter. This growth is indicative of the increasing adoption of AI-powered communication tools globally.
Unlike many companies at the Series B stage that focus on developing foundational infrastructure, Respond.io plans to utilize the new funding to accelerate regional expansion, especially in North America and Europe, after establishing a strong customer base in the Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and Europe-Middle East-Africa regions.
The platform integrates popular communication channels such as WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, TikTok, Telegram, and WeChat. With its scalable solution and considerable market traction, Respond.io stands out as a prominent success story among Pakistani-founded technology enterprises in 2026.
