AIOU Launches Online Digital Skills Courses for Freelancers

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has opened admissions for its new batch of online digital skills courses aimed at students, freelancers, entrepreneurs, and job seekers. The initiative is designed to equip participants with market-relevant skills to enhance their earning potential in Pakistan’s growing digital economy.

Offered through AIOU’s Centre for Lifelong Learning (CLL) in partnership with iSkills, the program focuses on practical training that supports building online businesses and freelance careers. The university has introduced three specialized courses, each lasting three months, followed by three months of mentorship and post-course support:

  • E-Commerce and Business Automation
  • YouTube Automation and Monetization (AI-Powered)
  • Etsy Marketplace and Digital Products Business

The courses are designed to be accessible, with a minimum eligibility criterion of matriculation. Tuition for each program is set at Rs. 15,000. Renowned digital skills trainer Tanveer Nandla and his team will conduct the training, offering hands-on guidance on areas such as e-commerce platforms, content monetization strategies, automation tools, and digital entrepreneurship.

Admissions opened on June 8, 2026, and will remain open until July 3, 2026, with classes for the first cohort commencing on July 10, 2026. This timing strategically aligns with the rising demand for digital skills across Pakistan, where many young people are increasingly turning to freelancing, e-commerce, and content creation as viable sources of employment and entrepreneurship.

The university’s program represents a significant effort to bridge the skills gap and support Pakistan’s youth in leveraging digital technologies for income generation and career development.
