Benazir Taleemi Wazaif Program Offers Up to Rs. 5,000 in Stipends

The Government of Pakistan continues its commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for children from low-income families through the Benazir Taleemi Wazaif Program. This initiative aims to boost school enrollment and reduce dropout rates by providing quarterly educational stipends to eligible beneficiaries.
The stipends are specifically targeted at children whose mothers are registered beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) Kafalat scheme. The financial assistance is distributed directly to these students to support their academic journey.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the stipends under the Benazir Taleemi Wazaif Program, applicants must satisfy several important conditions. First, the mother must be an active and registered beneficiary of BISP’s Kafalat Program. Second, the child must possess a valid NADRA-issued B-Form or Child Registration Certificate (CRC), which is verified through NADRA’s database. Lastly, the child must fall within the age limits corresponding to their level of education as outlined below:
- Primary Education: Ages 4 to 12 years
- Secondary Education: Ages 8 to 18 years
- Higher Secondary Education: Ages 13 to 22 years
Registration Process
Parents or guardians can register their children by visiting the nearest BISP Field Office along with the child and necessary documents. These include the mother’s CNIC registered with BISP, the child’s NADRA B-Form or CRC, and the school admission slip verified by the teacher.
Upon submission, a BISP officer registers the child and issues an enrollment slip. This slip must be taken to the child’s school for verification, where it is stamped and endorsed by the class teacher and head teacher, including details of the child’s class and section.
The verified slip is then returned to the BISP office. After final validation, the government releases the stipend to support the student’s education.
Stipend Amounts and Conditions
The amount of the stipend varies by educational level and the gender of the student. To remain eligible for the stipend, students must maintain a minimum attendance rate of 70% throughout the academic period. Failure to meet this requirement could result in suspension or cancellation of the stipend.
| Education Level | Boys (Rs.) | Girls (Rs.) |
|---|---|---|
| Primary (Class 1–5) | 2,500 | 3,000 |
| Secondary (Class 6–10) | 3,500 | 4,000 |
| Higher Secondary (Class 11–12) | 4,500 | 5,000 |
Moreover, female students receive a one-time graduation bonus of Rs. 3,000 upon successfully completing primary education. This additional incentive is designed to encourage girls to continue their educational pursuits.
The Benazir Taleemi Wazaif Program remains an important social initiative that supports education for vulnerable segments of the Pakistani population, promoting equitable access and addressing financial barriers to schooling.
