The government is likely to increase the prices of diesel in Pakistan by up to Rs 17 per litre following a price hike globally effective from July 1.

The price of high-speed diesel may go up to Rs 281.09 per litre from Rs 263.31 per litre.

The price of kerosene oil may also go up to Rs 226.81 per litre from Rs 211.43 per litre.

The price of LDO will go up to Rs 223 per litre from Rs 207.47 per litre.

The oil regulator has calculated these prices based on current government taxes of zero petroleum levy and general sales tax.

The government has already increased the price of diesel by Rs59.16 per litre, petrol by Rs24.03, kerosene by Rs33.12 and light diesel oil by Rs25.53 per litre.
