Government To Provide Direct Subsidy on Fertilizer to Farmers

The government has decided to provide direct subsidy on fertilizer to farmers after the urea manufacturers refuse to pass on full relief of subsidized gas.

Fertilizer manufacturers have been receiving cheaper gas but they have been providing expensive fertilizer to farmers.

They had also collected multibillion rupees of GIDC from farmers but did not deposit them into the national exchequer.

Keeping in view such a situation, the government has decided to provide direct subsidy to farmers on fertilizer. Is DAP fertilizer pricing in Pakistan putting farmers’ livelihoods at risk?

The decision was taken in a meeting held here chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Despite economic concerns, Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has promised considerable budget measures to benefit the poor and middle class. He directed efficient resource use to maximize public relief.

The Prime Minister’s direct fertiliser subsidy for farmers was crucial. A detailed proposal will be offered to provide direct fertiliser subsidies to qualifying farmers. Farmers should benefit from this initiative, Premier said.

The government prioritizes renewable energy and agriculture. The Prime Minister said that government would help eligible farmers convert their tube-wells to solar electricity.

This will lower the fuel import bill and farmers’ output expenses per acre, helping farmers and the economy.

In reaction to falling oil prices, the government acted quickly. To benefit the public, the Prime Minister lowered petroleum prices.

Recognizing the importance of social welfare, the Prime Minister has stressed the expansion of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) to include more eligible citizens.

The government wants every deserving widow in the country to participate in the program. This will assist marginalized groups get financial support.

Education is a primary priority for the government, as the Prime Minister indicated that worthy students will be offered scholarships to pursue higher education and develop professional skills.

The government will establish the Pakistan Education Endowment Fund to help this purpose. This effort will help more kids get a great education and advance the nation.

The Prime Minister pledged to provide youth with education, skills training, laptops, and jobs. The government wants to prepare youth for the employment market by training them to worldwide standards and modern criteria.

Expanding the Prime Minister’s Youth Loan Programme and encouraging local IT exports help youth start enterprises and thrive in IT.

The Prime Minister blamed the previous government’s failures on young hostility and instability. He stressed the importance of using youth talent to promote national unity and progress.

The Prime Minister ordered all facilities to support small enterprises and industries. This effort fosters economic growth and entrepreneurship.
