Lahore Schools Close Early Amid Citywide Protests
The Lahore Education Department has announced early leave for students in all public and private schools due to the worsening law and order situation in city.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of Education, schools were directed to release students early as several major roads remain blocked, causing heavy congestion across Lahore.
The official further said the decision was made to ensure student safety and to help parents avoid difficulties caused by the ongoing traffic disruption in the city.
Education authorities confirmed that all institutions, both public and private, have implemented the early dismissal order in coordination with the district administration.
Parents are being informed through official school channels to collect their children on time, while staff members are assisting to maintain order at school gates.
Officials stated that coordination teams are ensuring smooth traffic movement near school zones to prevent overcrowding and avoid any security-related inconvenience for families.

The announcement came as the federal government suspended mobile internet services in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, citing security concerns amid nationwide protests by a religious group.
According to the Interior Ministry, the decision was approved by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and implemented through the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority on Friday night.
Reports from several parts of Rawalpindi confirmed mobile network disruptions as authorities tightened security measures and imposed traffic diversions across key city routes.
Meanwhile, the Punjab government has enforced Section 144 across the province for ten days, banning public gatherings of four or more people in open areas.
A notification from the Punjab Home Department stated that the restrictions aim to prevent unrest, maintain order, and ensure public safety during the current situation.
The order took effect immediately and includes a province-wide ban on political rallies, processions, and the display of weapons in public places.
