Toyota has officially revealed the 2026 Hilux, introducing its most update, combining legendary toughness with modern electrification and advanced hybrid technology.

For the first time, the Hilux will be available as a fully electric BEV, a 48V hybrid, diesel, petrol, and hydrogen fuel cell model.

The Hilux BEV, launching in December 2025, features a 59.2 kWh battery, dual motors, all-wheel drive, 715 kilogram payload, and 1,600 kilogram towing capacity.

Hybrid enthusiasts will get the 48V Hilux in spring 2026, blending a 2.8-liter turbo-diesel engine with a 48V motor for efficient, powerful performance.

Design upgrades draw inspiration from the Land Cruiser, with slim LED headlights, a grille-free front for BEV, redesigned steps, and a bold Double Cab body style.

Inside, the pickup features a fully digital cabin with a 12.3-inch driver display, matching touchscreen, modern layout, and advanced connectivity for all users.

Safety features include adaptive cruise control, proactive driving assist, blind spot monitoring, safe exit assist, emergency stop system, and a driver monitoring camera.

Toyota engineered the Hilux with body-on-frame construction, off-road torque control, battery protection, and 700mm wading, ensuring its legendary rugged performance remains intact.

The hydrogen fuel cell version, set to debut in 2028, will deliver zero-emission performance while preserving Hilux’s towing, payload, and off-road capabilities for sustainable operations.

Owners can connect to the MyToyota app to monitor battery levels, track trips, update software over the air, and manage up to ten vehicles efficiently.

With diesel, petrol, hybrid, electric, and hydrogen options, the 2026 Hilux targets every type of driver, market, and future mobility demand around the world.
