Cambridge AS Level Maths Paper Leak Sparks Concerns

New reports have emerged regarding the suspected leak of the Cambridge AS Level Mathematics examination paper in Pakistan. Students have claimed that they encountered a mathematics paper identical to a solved version that had circulated on social media one day prior to the scheduled exam.

Cambridge International Education has acknowledged that investigations are ongoing into these reports. Although the examination authority refrains from commenting on specific cases, it reassured schools that they will be informed whenever genuine issues occur. Cambridge has also urged all candidates and educational institutions to rely solely on official communications to avoid confusion caused by misinformation spread on online platforms.

This is not an isolated incident. Previously, on April 29, the AS Level Mathematics Paper 12 was involved in similar allegations, which led Cambridge to arrange a replacement exam for June 9. Additional concerns have arisen recently about leaked A Level Business Studies papers, intensifying worries regarding repeated breaches within Cambridge’s international exam framework.

Last year, multiple AS and A Level papers underwent partial leaks in Pakistan. In response, Cambridge offered free resits in the November session to affected candidates.

Cambridge conducts examinations biannually—in June and November—with results announced in August and January respectively, serving students in over 160 countries worldwide.

The recent developments highlight ongoing challenges faced by examination bodies in safeguarding the integrity and fairness of international assessments, emphasizing the need for vigilant oversight to uphold standards.
