Canva Partners with Perplexity for AI-Driven Design Creation

Canva, the popular graphic design platform, has partnered with Perplexity Computer to launch a new connector that integrates AI-generated research and documents directly into Canva’s design environment. This collaboration aims to streamline the workflow by eliminating the need for manual transfer of AI outputs into design software.
Perplexity Computer functions as a multi-model AI orchestrator, synthesizing data from various sources such as meeting notes, performance analytics, web research, and internal business documents. It generates structured briefs that users can seamlessly import into Canva through the connector available on Perplexity’s Connectors page.
Once imported, these briefs are automatically converted into editable presentations, social media campaigns, infographics, brand kits, and reusable templates within Canva. All design assets remain fully editable and support team collaboration, thereby enabling users to move directly from insights to publishable content without leaving their primary workflow.
This integration targets practical scenarios that are vital for growing teams. For example, sales leads can be transformed into tailored pitch decks, client meetings into polished proposals, and seasonal market trends into ready-to-launch campaigns. Canva is currently the sole design partner integrated into Perplexity Computer’s ecosystem.
The collaboration is part of Canva’s broader strategy to embed its design capabilities across major AI platforms. The company already supports integrations with several prominent AI systems, including Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and Gemini. The addition of Perplexity Computer expands Canva’s reach within the AI ecosystem.
The connector is available exclusively for Perplexity Pro, Max, Enterprise Pro, and Enterprise Max subscribers. It supports eleven languages, including English, Hindi, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, and Russian. Users can activate the connector through the Perplexity Computer Connectors page and link it to an existing Canva account to start generating AI-powered designs.
This collaboration highlights the growing trend of integrating AI technology into creative workflows, enhancing productivity and enabling businesses, particularly small enterprises, to leverage AI for content creation—a primary reason for AI adoption among small businesses, according to Canva.
