Pakistan Post sets up Amazon Facilitation Center

Pakistan Post has set up Amazon Facilitation Center to assist garments manufacturers and exporters on the government’s behalf in selling various items and commodities such as garments on the US platform.

In addition, the fact that Amazon has made its platforms available to Pakistani sellers will help to promote businesses, and online buyers will have greater access to Pakistani brands due to the fact that these brands will be able to access all major markets through Amazon, according to Pakistan Post Punjab Postmaster General Khawaja Imran Raza.

During a meeting with a delegation from the Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA), Raza informed them about the establishment of an Amazon Facilitation Center by Pakistan Post to facilitate garments manufacturers and exporters on the government’s behalf in selling various items and commodities such as garments on Amazon.

He went on to say that Pakistan Post is completely ready to take advantage of the opportunity presented by Amazon and that the department is fully equipped to carry merchants’ consignments from their doorsteps to various Amazon warehouses located throughout the world.

Raza further stated that e-commerce presents the best chance, particularly in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak, because the number of people purchasing and selling online is growing rapidly.

“The government has fully authorized Pakistan Post Office officially as the delivery partner of the global e-commerce giant,” said Adeeb Iqbal Sheikh, Chairman of the PRGMEA North Zone. They hailed it as a monumental achievement for Pakistan’s e-commerce sector, as Pakistani items will now be available to millions of buyers all over the world,” he continued.

The office-bearer stated that this action will have a positive impact on the youth as well as small and medium-sized organisations (SMEs) that wish to offer their products on the Amazon platform. According to him, “this will bring more Pakistani sellers into the worldwide market.”
