Benelli to Begin Local Assembly in Pakistan in 2027

Benelli motorcycles will be assembled locally in Pakistan starting January 2027, a move confirmed recently by Buraq Automobile, the official representative of Benelli, QJMotor, and Moto Morini in the country. This development is expected to reduce prices and enhance accessibility for Pakistani riders.

Local Assembly Plans Announced

The announcement came through a joint post on Facebook by Buraq Automobile alongside Benelli’s official page, declaring the commencement of Benelli’s local assembly. This aligns with prior statements from Buraq’s CEO Mobeen Ahmed who had revealed plans to initiate assembly operations for two international motorcycle brands. While Moto Morini’s Alltrhike 450 was previously confirmed as the first assembled model slated for deliveries in January 2027, Benelli was later verified as the second brand to benefit from local assembly facilities.

Ahmed emphasized that local assembly will help lower motorcycle prices as Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits attract reduced import duties compared to fully built units, with Buraq aiming to pass cost savings directly to customers.

Expected Models and Official Disclosure

Although Buraq Automobile has yet to disclose which Benelli model will be assembled first, the company currently imports models including the TNT 150i, 180S, 302S, and TNT 600i. It is anticipated that one or more of these will be the initial locally assembled versions.

The official announcement specifying the first model is expected on November 2, according to previous remarks by Ahmed. PakWheels will provide updates as further information becomes available.

Why This Matters for Pakistan’s Motorcycle Market

Local assembly of Benelli motorcycles marks a significant step toward expanding the variety and affordability of mid-range motorcycles in Pakistan. With growing demand for performance and premium bikes, producing locally assembled units can stimulate the automotive sector, create jobs, and reduce dependency on imports. This initiative could also encourage other international manufacturers to consider similar ventures in Pakistan, fostering competition and innovation.

Mobeen Ahmed remarked, “We anticipate that local assembly will make premium motorcycles more accessible by lowering prices, benefiting our customers and the industry overall.” As Pakistan’s motorcycle market continues to grow rapidly, such developments can help meet the evolving expectations of consumers seeking quality and cost-effective riding options.
