Pakistan, Azerbaijan to boost cooperation in IT sector

ISLAMABAD: The delegation of Azerbaijan led by its Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Mr. Rashad Nabiyev, called on Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul Haque here on Tuesday.

The Federal Minister for IT welcomed the delegation on arrival in Ministry, and matters relating to digital transformation, software development, and IT exports were discussed in detail. The two sides pledged to boost their bilateral cooperation in the IT and telecom sector.

Talking to the delegation, Federal Minster for IT Syed Amin Ul Haque said that Pakistan greatly values its relations with Azerbaijan. Pakistan wants to boost its ties with Azerbaijan in the technology sector, he added.

He went on to say that the Ministry of IT & Telecom is committed to achieving Prime Minister’s Digital Pakistan vision, adding that the Ministry of IT works jointly with the IT industry for digital transformation in the country.

Azerbaijan Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Mr. Rashad Nabiyev, emphasized the need of forming a joint working group between Pakistan and Azerbaijan for strengthening ties in the IT and telecom sector. He said Azerbaijan wanted to work with Pakistan in the field of software development.

Earlier, Member IT Syed Junaid Imam briefed the delegation on the digital Pakistan landscape.
